Md. National Guard doubling presence in DC to 1,000 troops

The governor provided an update Tuesday on Maryland's efforts to address security threats. Despite the FBI warning about threats to statehouses nationwide between now and the inauguration, Gov. Larry Hogan confirmed there have been no credible, defined threats as of Tuesday against the Maryland State House, where security has been increased as a precaution. The governor said, after a formal request, the state is doubling the Maryland National Guard's presence in Washington, D.C., from 500 to 1,000 members.
