Meanwhile, Samsung Made a Non-Android Smartphone

Samsung now has a prototype Tizen-based phone, called the Samsung Z. It's going to be Samsung's first non-Android phone, to match the non-Android Galaxy Gear watch. Their software used was developed with Intel.

The Samsung Z will have a 720p-HD screen, AMOLED display, quad-core processor, 2.3 GHz CPI, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB memory, LTE, an 8-megapixel camera, a heart rate sensor (for testing stress levels, just like the Galaxy 5) and a fingerprint scanner.

As for the screen design, Engadget expects to see the same design as what Samsung has used on the Galaxy S devices, including the app drawer, notification tray and home screen widgets.
