(FOX40.COM) — In addition to voting in the presidential primary on March 5, Sacramento County residents will also vote on several statewide and local races and measures.
Within Sacramento County, bigger elections this primary include the race for Sacramento mayor and the race to replace former Sacramento City District 2 Councilman Sean Loloee.
The races and measures that appear on ballots depend on where voters live within the county.
Measures
Proposition 1
According to the Associated Press, Prop 1 would “allow the state to borrow $6.38 billion for 11,150 new treatment beds, housing and 26,700 outpatient treatment slots to serve up to 100,000 people a year.” The measure also changes how counties pay for mental health services.
Sacramento Business Operations Tax Update of 2024 (Measure C)
Measure C updates Sacramento’s Business Operations Tax (BOT) including increasing the flat rate taxes and caps.
According to the city, “minimum payment, maximum payment, and gross receipts thresholds have not been adjusted for inflation since 1991.”
The city estimates that the tax would generate an additional $6.7 million in tax revenue for the city when it is fully phased in five years after taking effect.
