Meat recalled from Hernando County Publix over possible ‘foreign material’

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Publix has recalled nearly a dozen ground beef products from a store in Hernando County.

The recall covers products sold on Feb. 14, at the Lakewood Plaza store in Spring Hill, according to the announcement from Publix.

The following products, which were sold on Feb. 13, were voluntarily recalled due to the “potential of foreign material.”

“As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from the store shelves,” Publix Director of Communications, Maria Brous, wrote in a statement.

Products sold on or after Feb. 14 are not included in the recall.

Anyone who has the recalled products is asked to throw them away or return them to the store for a refund. Customers with additional questions or concerns are asked contact Publix Customer Care at (800) 242-1227.
