Mechanics warn about damage Carolina summer heat can do to cars

We’re in the thick of another hot summer, and everyone knows how tough it is to endure the extreme heat.

Mechanics in the Carolinas are warning drivers not to overlook the damage it can do to cars. As the weather warms up, mechanics say so does the risk for blown tires, dead batteries and faulty air conditioners.

“Radiators are made of plastic, different things like that,” Mechanic Chris Mayo told Channel 9. “The plastic expands during the heat and all that stuff breaks.”
