Sep. 22—Medford's first Chipotle location with the restaurant's "Chipotlane" drive-thru window for digital orders will celebrate its grand opening Friday with free goods and prizes.
The first 50 people in line for the restaurant's chain's new location at 60 Rossanley Drive will receive "complimentary Chipotle Goods merchandise," according to a press release from the company announcing the opening of its relocated north Medford restaurant.
The new location's highlight feature is the Chipotlane, which the restaurant describes as "a drive-thru pickup lane that allows customers to pick up digital orders without leaving their cars." Drive-thru orders must be submitted online via the Chipotle smartphone app or Chipotle.com.
The new fast casual outlet replaces the Chipotle near Trader Joe's in Medford's Northgate Center, which opened in November 2012.
Other perks this weekend include free chips and guacamole Friday for diners who sign up for Chipotle Rewards, and no delivery fee for Garlic Guajillo Steak orders placed online through Sunday, Sept. 25. The restaurant is open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
The restaurant is hiring at the Medford location, offering benefits that include "a debt free college degree program," English as a second language, "access to mental health care for employees and their families" and a "crew bonus with the opportunity to earn an extra month's worth of pay each year," according to the release.
