The median list price in south-central Kansas is $295K. What that could buy you in Wichita
Home sales in south-central Kansas dipped in the month of July, according to the latest information from South Central Kansas MLS, which covers Sedgwick, Butler, Cowley and Sumner counties.
Looking at overall home sales from that month, a total of 859 units moved in the area, compared to the year before at 979.
The median active list price in south-central Kansas was $295,000, up 9.7% year-over-year. Meanwhile, the median sale price in the area sat at $223,750.
So if you’re hunting for a home in Wichita and not sure what to expect, here’s a look at two properties listed at July’s median active list price to give you an idea.
2259 N. Lakeway Circle

The average value for a Wichita-area home is $240,700, according to data from Zillow’s Home Value Index.
When looking at ZIP codes in the city, the area with the highest home value is 67228, with an overall median home value of $447,349. That ZIP code is closely followed by 67227, with a median value of $443,403.
