Mediapolis' Isley breaks two school records in Bulldogs' road rout of Wilton

Mediapolis jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 42-21 victory over Wilton in a Class 1A District 5 victory over the Beavers on Friday at Wilton.

Mediapolis senior Anthony Isley set a pair of school records for career rushing yards and career rushing touchdowns.

Isley has 3,391yards on 425 carries and has scored 39 career touchdowns.

Isley also returned three punts for 66 yards and had a pair of tackles.

Mediapolis hosts Durant at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Mediapolis Athletic Complex in a game with huge playoff positioning implications.

NO. 10 NORTH SCOTT 46, BURLINGTON 7: Class 4A's 10th-ranked Lancers broke open the game with 28 points in the second quarter and rolled to a District 3 win over the Grayhounds at Eldridge.

The Lancers took an 18-0 lead into halftime.

Noah Nixon spoiled the Lancers' shutout with a four-yard scoring run with 3 minutes, 49 seconds left in the game. Nixon led the Grayhounds, rushing for 114 yards on 29 carries. Casen Schisel rushed for 57 yards on eight carries.

Burlington (4-2 overall, 1-1 District 3) travels to play Mount Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7.

COLUMBUS 71, NORTH MAHASKA 14: Kaden Amigon rushed for 270 yards on just eight carries and scored five touchdowns as the Wildcats improved to 6-0 in a non-district blowout of the Warhawks on Homecoming at Columbus Junction.

Amigon averaged a whopping 33.75 yards per carry.

Triston Miller rushed for 47 yards on six carries for the Wildcats, while Trenton Hoback rushed for 44 yards on two carries and scored a touchdown and Cole Storm rushed for 13 yards on two carries and scored a touchdown. Riley Kaalberg scored on a 38-yard run and led the Wildcats with 8 1/2 tackles.

Columbus travels to Stanwood to play North Cedar at 7 p.m. Oct. 7.

WAPELLO 55, HIGHLAND 30: Casey Short threw for three touchdowns and Jake Gustison rushed for four touchdowns and caught a scoring pass in the Indians' Class A District 5 home win at Carl "Mac" McGill Field in Wapello.

Short completed 8-of-10 passes for 170 yards on the night. Tyler Palmer hauled in two of those passes for 98 yards and two scores.

Gustison rushed for 233 yards on 15 carries, including a 70-yard scoring scamper. He also caught two passes for 70 yards. Caleb Ealey rushed eight times for 98 yards and a touchdown.

NEW LONDON 74, IOWA VALLEY 40: New London vaulted to second place in Class 8-Man District 6 with a rout of Iowa Valley at New London.

Boden Pickle rushed for 141 yards and scored two touchdowns and Blaise Porter rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns to lead New London. Quarterback Dom Lopez rushed for 93 yards and three touchdowns and completed 4-of-7 passes for 41 yards and a score.

Porter had 10 tackles -- five for loss -- and returned an interception for a touchdown. Pickle had eight tackles.

Michael Raines, Evan Reed and Brigham Porter also had interceptions for New London.

New London (4-3) hosts Lone Tree (3-3) at 7 p.m. Oct. 7.

NO. 4 WACO 42, LONE TREE 17: Isaac Oswald threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns and Simeon Reichenbach rushed for 125 yards and two scores as the Warriors rolled to a Class 8-Man District 6 win at Lone Tree.

Reichenbach also caught two touchdown passes.

Louden Huisenga rushed for 37 yards and a score and Oleh Shtefanchuk caught three passes for 107 yards, including a 64-yard scoring strike. He also intercepted a pair of passes and recorded five tackles. Tyle Egli caught two passes for 30 yards and a score and Drew Diers had six tackles.

WACO (7-0) hosts Winfield-Mount Union (5-2) at 7 p.m. Oct. 7.

WINFIELD-MOUNT UNION 60, TRI-COUNTY 0: Cole Milks threw for a touchdown and ran for two more to help the Wolves to a Class 8-Man District 6 home win over the Trojans.

Abram Edwards scored on a six-yard run and also caught a scoring pass. Jake Edwards scored two touchdowns and Eli Miller scored one. Caleb Giese rushed for 57 yards on five carries.

ILLINI WEST 28, SOUTH FULTON 22: Gannon Bergmann threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for another 84 yards in the Chargers' Prairieland Conference win at Carthage, Illinois.

Bergmann three touchdown passes of 71 and 53 yards to Jerick LeMaire. Jorge Espinoza and Ian Bentzmyer also caught scoring passes. LaMaire caught five passes for 148 yards and Drake Mudd caught three passes for 79 yards.
