Medical collapse in Mariupol: mayor's adviser tells of catastrophic situation regarding medicines

There has been a medical collapse in occupied Mariupol: the city is lacking drugs and doctors.

The occupiers have desperately begun "persuading" people over the age of 80 to return to work.

The city currently lacks both specialised professionals and therapists, according to Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to Mariupol’s mayor.

"Despite the beautiful pictures from the propagandists, there is a catastrophic shortage of doctors in the city. They have already begun "persuading" retirees of 80+ to return to work.

We are talking about ordinary therapists, not to mention the lack of specialised professionals," he said.

To confirm his words, Andriushchenko has published a list of doctors from Mariupol Hospital No.3, which serves the Central and Primorskyi districts, where 70,000 people live.

"This is a clear demonstration of the complete paralysis and collapse of medical services.

Therefore, we can say ad infinitum that the city is not threatened by an epidemic, that life has improved. But this board says the opposite. With medical services in this state, any infectious disease will turn into a deadly epidemic," Andriushchenko said.

He also said that the residents of the city, despite the lack of medicines, have been offered the choice of "waiting" or moving to occupied Donetsk by themselves.

It should be noted that Mariupol is in an extremely difficult epidemic situation, including the threat of a cholera epidemic due to mass burials and rubbish dumped on city streets.
