The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office is seeking next of kin for the woman who was killed Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Akron.

The woman, identified as Deborah Ann Spicer, 66, of Akron, died after she was ejected from a Chevrolet pickup truck that collided with a Ford Explorer shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of East Market Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy determined she died of blunt force trauma.

The 57-year-old male driver and a 35-year-old male passenger in the pickup truck were also ejected and hospitalized in serious condition, according to Akron police. The driver of the SUV had minor injuries and did not need to be hospitalized and two passengers in the SUV were uninjured, Akron police said.

The pickup truck was heading east on East Market Street at a high rate of speed when the Explorer pulled out of a church parking lot and collided with the truck. The pickup rolled over onto its left side, Akron police said.

Woman's mother, brother deceased

Spicer apparently never married and had no children, according to the medical examiner's office. The injured driver of the pickup truck was a friend and was listed in medical records as Spicer's emergency contact, according to the office.

Spicer's mother, Madalyn Spicer, died in 1997. A brother, Rodney Spicer, died in 2017.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office at 330 643-2101. The office is at 85 N. Summit St., Akron.
