New medical group opens primary care clinic in Poulsbo

POULSBO – A new medical group is launching several primary care clinics in Washington, including one in Poulsbo’s College Marketplace development.

Kinwell Medical Group’s new clinic in Poulsbo is in a building off Reliance Street, near the development’s Home Depot location. A family medicine physician and a nurse practitioner are based at the location, which opened last month. The facility has seven patient suites and also provides telehealth services.

Kinwell launched in 2021 and its clinics exclusively serve those covered by Premera Blue Cross, Premera Blue Cross Medicare plans or LifeWise Health Plan of Washington, as well as BlueCard holders. The group has opened a handful of clinics in the region, including in Lynnwood, Pasco, Renton, Seattle, Wenatchee and Yakima.

“At Kinwell, we offer primary care services which include care for everyday ailments like the flu and for chronic conditions like diabetes,” Dr. Mia Wise, chief medical officer for Kinwell, said in a statement provided to the Kitsap Sun. “We also provide behavioral health services which include access to mental health treatments. In addition to having top notch qualifications in primary care, our clinicians have additional training in lifestyle medicine including acupuncture, bariatric medicine, wellness and nutrition.”

Wise said the Poulsbo clinic can accommodate as many as 30 patients per day.

“Our mission is to address the gap in access to timely primary care,” Wise said. “We do this by providing same day appointments and meeting patients where they are: online, on the phone or in person. The Kinwell model is built on trusted, long-term partnerships with our patients. We are a holistic primary care clinic where patients return to optimize their health over time. We provide a continuum of care and help our patients understand the process and the system, from insurance and bills to specialist notes and complex diagnoses.”
