Medical spa offering wellness services in Coshocton
COSHOCTON − Providing services to make people feel better without traveling out of the region is the goal of a new medical spa.
B. Radiant Wellness offers medical weight loss, facial esthetics like Botox and dermal fillers, I.V. hydration and injectables, along with other self-care choices such as teeth whitening and facials. An office in Newcomerstown opened in the July and the Coshocton branch opened Dec. 1, although they have been doing private parties and mobile work since August. The spa has about 250 clients.
Owner Tarah Jaras said she had a vision for creating a medical spa focused on self-care for many years and began earnestly pursuing it this year. She felt such services were desired in the region as she knew people who went as far as Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh for a lot of what she's offering.
"I knew people were driving all over the place to get these services. I wanted to bring them back to this community," Jaras said. "I like to think of it as a spa. We want you to come in here, feel relaxed and kind of get pampered."
Jaras is a nurse practitioner and still works in the family medicine field part time. The four employees at Radiant Wellness of Coshocton are registered nurses. Telehealth is offered.
"We live in an age where we're living longer and want to feel good about ourselves. We work in a realm now where we're moving toward functional medicine. We want to treat the things we want to treat, not what I tell you," Jaras said.
Jaras would like to find a bigger building in Newcomerstown. She also wants to expand what's offered in both places with new types of facials, lash extensions and permanent makeup on the horizon. They have men now, but would like to grow the male clientele.
"Everybody here has just embraced it," Jaras said of community support. "I've received messages, calls, flowers. All kinds of stuff of people just welcoming me."
