UPDATE: Victim identified in deadly Champaign Co. motorcycle crash

The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash from earlier this week. The man is identified as Aaron Matthew Bosse, 23, of Troy, Ohio.

A motorcyclist was killed in a Champaign County crash Tuesday morning, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 6:55 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 55, east of state Route 235 in western Champaign County, deputies said in a media release.

A preliminary investigation found a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling east on state Route 55 when a motorcycle went across the centerline and crashed head-on into the pickup truck, Chief Deputy Eric Holmes said in a media release.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, Holmes said. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.

The driver of the truck, identified as Chad Reese, 49, of Troy, was not injured in the crash, Holmes said.

Potential factors in the crash were not released and the crash remains under investigation.
