The Tuscarawas County Rockets Silver team has faced tough competition throughout the season.

They have not had a game as close as the one against the Summit County Warriors D2 team.

Matthew Medley scored 51 points, his last two coming with under five seconds left in overtime as Rockets Silver won 75-73.

Medley fired in nine 3-pointers and he also added 22 rebounds, seven steals, five assists, and two blocks.

Tyran Holloway added 10 points, 26 boards, five steals, two blocks and an assist. Alex Adkins added seven points, 10 rebounds, five steals, two assists, and a block. Several other Rockets added points and stats to propel the team to victory.

Jerome Edwards led the Warriors with 52 points.

After the first quarter, the Rockets were down 14-7. They outscored their opponent 24-11 in the second quarter to bring the halftime score to 31-25. At the end of the third quarter, the Rockets held onto a one-point lead at 42-41. The Warriors pulled to a lead early in the fourth quarter and held onto it until the very last seconds of the game; the Rockets rebounded the ball on a missed 1-on-1 foul shot by the Warriors and drove the ball down the court.

In overtime, the Warriors outscored the Rockets in the first two minutes. The Rockets fought back and took a one-point lead. After some more back and forth rebounds and fouls that placed both teams in the double bonus, the game was tied going into the final seconds.

With a pivotal steal from Steve Hazelip, the Rockets took possession of the ball. They once again drove to the hoop against some very strong and high pressure defense, and in the last 2-3 seconds of the overtime, Medley scored the game-winning basket.
