The 2022 Winter Olympics are less than a month away, and hockey fans from Minnesota might see some familiar faces.

The NHL is not sending its players to Beijing for the games due to COVID-19, so hockey players from other professional leagues and collegiate ranks got the nod instead.

For this year's games, seven players born in Minnesota will represent the United States' men's hockey team. Six Minnesota natives will suit up for the women's team, too. The opening ceremonies for the 2022 Winter Olympics are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 4.

In the 2018 games, played in PyeongChang, South Korea, two Minnesota natives made Team USA's hockey roster: Will Borgen (Moorhead, MN, and a St. Cloud State player) and Ryan Stoa (Bloomington, MN, and University of Minnesota alum).

Here's a look at the seven Team USA hockey players with Minnesota hometowns.
