Film Prize

The Prize that started it all is back and it's time to find out the films that are headed to the big screen finals to battle it out for the trophy and the $50,000 grand prize.

Filmmakers across the world are invited to participate in Film Prize, but only ones shot in Caddo Parish will be eligible for the full $50,000 prize. A Mentor Judge panel and the Prize Fest audience will vote to choose the grand prize winner in October.

A national selection committee have watched and reviewed all 147 submissions and they have selected the 20 films going on to Film Prize 2022:

  • Alexander Jeffery - "Addie and the Lightning Bugs"

  • Monique Morton Derouselle - "Rising Dawn"

  • Mark D. Bonner - "Bamber Bridge"

  • Steven Joshua Martinez - "Notes on the War"

  • Jeremy Enis - "Ruminant"

  • David Long - "Betty Lou Had a Son"

  • Marion Forbes - "Canary"

  • John Beach - "They Grow Up So Fast"

  • Lorna Street Dopson - "Unicorn Poop"

"I will tell you as we move forward and it starts to get real, we do think about the collective a lot," said Founder and Executive Director Gregory Kallenberg. "We think about the crews that were down there actually having to take turns being quiet on the set so another one can film, we think about the way this community helped each other. One of the things that we keep hearing over and over again from others and even from our judges, they love the community that's been build here, because nobody goes without a hug, no one does not get their glass filled, right? This is a community that is second to none, it's been built the right way and built by you guys."

Louisiana Prize Fest will take place October 14 - 16 and October 20 - 22, for more information on the festival including how to purchase tickets, visit the Prize Fest website.
