How about "playmakers"?
All five senior standouts have abilities that allow them to defend the court while also filling up the hoop in a variety of ways. From beyond the 3-point arc to midrange jumpers to drives to the basket, all five are seen as their respective team's go-to player.
With the high school basketball season at the midway point, here's this year's top-five senior standouts with final stats and accomplishments from last season.
Emily Jaenke, Fox Valley Lutheran
Height: 5-10
Position: Guard

Why she’s on the team: Unanimous first-team all-North Eastern Conference and led the league in scoring. Averaged 17.2 points and connected on 72-of-161 from beyond the 3-point arc (45%). Won the WIAA's 3-point contest in March at the Resch Center. Has more than 1,000 career points.
Makenzie Drout, Kimberly
Height: 5-9
Position: Guard
Family: Parents, Jason and Jessica; siblings, Bentley and Eli

Why she’s on the team: Honorable mention on the Associated Press all-state team. First-team all-Fox Valley Association. Averaged 17.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Will play in college at Appalachian State.
Sammi Beyer, Appleton East
Height: 5-7
Position: Point guard

Why she’s on the team: Averaged 11.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in helping the Patriots reach the WIAA Division 1 state final. First-team all-Fox Valley Association. Will play collegiately at St. Thomas (Minn.).
Megan Schuman, Brillion
Height: 6-0
Position: Wing
Family: Parents, Randy and Nicki; siblings, Kaitlyn, Colin and Dylan

Why she’s on the team: Honorable-mention AP all-state. Unanimous first-team all-Eastern Wisconsin Conference. Averaged 18.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Has more than 1,300 career points.
Sadie Jarmolowicz, Freedom

Position: Guard
Family: Parents, Tom and Sara; brothers, Garrett, Wyatt and Dawson

Why she’s on the team: Averaged 16 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.4 steals and 1.5 blocks. Helped lead Freedom to D3 title game. North Eastern Conference player of the year and a unanimous first-team selection. Honorable mention on the AP all-state team.
