All-County Boys Golf
James Earle, Jupiter
A final score of 74 marked back-to-back top 20 finishes at state for the Warriors' senior leader. A couple of matches earlier at districts, Earle also shot 74 to tie for third, his best postseason placement.
Emmanuel Lim, Park Vista
At Class 3A state championships, Lim was the low-scorer for Park Vista and Palm Beach County, recording a 71. The Cobra senior was just shy of taking the title of individual state champion over George Washington University commit Aksel Moe of Riverview-Sarasota, who shot 70. Lim also tied for fifth at regionals (75) and second at districts (73).
Brayden Jenard, Jupiter
Jenard's score of 73 led Jupiter's five top 20 finishers at the Class 3A state championships. The sophomore tied for seventh overall and helped the Warriors to their first state championship in program history. Leading up to state, another 73 also saw Jenard tie for third, sealing second place for his team at regionals.
Alex Heard, Boca Raton
The Palm Beach Post's high school Golfer of the Year for 2021 is heading off to play at the University of Connecticut in style. Heard improved from last year's impressive 10th-place finish to the top 5 (72) for his last appearance in 3A states as Boca finished fourth as a team. He also had an impressive run at districts, shooting 69 to finish second as an individual.
Jack Quinn, FAU High
Since moving to FAU High, Quinn's instant impact can't go unnoticed. A 2-under 70 at Class 1A states meant the junior clinched the individual championship and the Owls' first team state championship for any sport in school history. Be it 3A or 1A, the Dwyer transfer made postseason success look easy with impressive rounds in districts and regionals, finishing third and tying for first, respectively.
Jack Kantowski, Boca Raton
The other half of Boca's low-scoring senior duo turned in a 76 to place seventh at districts and tie Heard in regionals at 14th. By states, Kantowski improved his play to shoot a 73, tying Jupiter's Jenard for seventh.
Pavel Tsar, Benjamin
Tsar broke out on the preps scene last fall with a team-leading 72.9 stroke average and continued to come in clutch for the Bucs as a sophomore in 2022. Shooting 71 at districts, Tsar's low round was good for second individually with Benjamin falling just three strokes short of the team championship. Tsar held the Bucs steady again at regionals, shooting a 72, and Benjamin was only a couple of strokes away from bringing the hardware home to Palm Beach Gardens.
William Jun, Jupiter
The junior was one of Jupiter's most reliable pieces in the postseason, shooting 78 and 73 for top 10 finishes at districts and regionals, respectively. He finished his playoff round with a 75 and top 20 finish at 3A states.
Oscar Crowe, Boca Raton
It'll be on Crowe to help the Bobcats maintain program standards established by outgoing seniors, though this Bobcat proved in 2022 he is more than capable. An All-County selection last year as a freshman, Crowe shot 76 at states, 74 at regionals and a low 73 at districts in an impressive sophomore showing.
Jason Shwartz, American Heritage-Delray
The 2021 champion Shwartz had a top 10 finish in his junior appearance at districts, shot 71 for another top 10 placement at regionals and proved to be one of the area's most consistent golfers at Class 2A state championships, the only FHSAA tournament played as planned among modified matches for 1A and 3A. Through 36 holes at Howey-in-the-Hills' Mission Resort and Club, the junior shot a 147, tying for fifth individually and seeing the Stallions to a fourth-place team finish.
Mateo Desmond, FAU High
FAU High's district championship was led by a low round of 70 from Desmond, who was also the individual medalist at the October tournament. The sophomore also tied for 11th at regionals and was the Owls' next low-scorer after Quinn, shooting 73 to tie for ninth as an individual and power FAU toward its historic state title.
Tristan Wieland, Jupiter
The sophomore returned from the District 13-3A championships as an individual medalist and a team title-winner, shooting 69, four strokes ahead of the competition at Wellington Golf Club in October. At regionals, Wieland shot 73 to tie for third and rounded out an impressive year with a top 20 finish at state.
Coach of the Year
Bruce Wasserman, Jupiter
The Jupiter boys golf team captured the program's first state title and the county's first state title since 2010. While the Warriors didn't have a player higher than a tie for seventh (Brayden Jenard with a 73), its five top 20 scorers shot 75 or better to beat Miami Columbus by four shots and Windermere by six.
