Meet the 2022 preseason All-New Jersey football offensive team

The following players have been selected to the USA TODAY NETWORK preseason All-New Jersey football offensive team.

Jack Grusser

Ramapo senior quarterback

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Grusser is a Harvard commit who last season led the high-scoring Green Raiders to the North 1, Group 4 final. He earned All-New Jersey honorable mention last season after throwing for 2,645 yards and a North Jersey-best 32 touchdowns, and running for 764 yards and 12 scores.

Robert Long

St. Peter's Prep senior quarterback

The 6-foot, 200-pound Long is the most ballyhooed of the quarterbacks in the so-called Big Six, the non-public powers of North Jersey. The Maryland commit leads an always-dangerous big-play attack, one season after throwing for 1,849 yards and 20 touchdowns, and rushing for 87 yards and a score.

Brandon Boria

Cherokee senior running back

A two-time All-New Jersey honoree (second team in 2020; first team in 2021), Boria carried the ball 206 times 1,694 yards and 23 touchdowns last fall. He also caught nine passes for 185 yards and two scores. He's a Stony Brook commit.

Ronnie Heath

Don Bosco senior running back

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Heath is the centerpiece of arguably New Jersey’s most powerful running game. He’s a three-year starter who last season ran for 1,285 yards and 15 touchdowns, and was an All-New Jersey honorable mention. During the COVID-shortened 2020 season, he ran for 486 yards and five scores in five games.

Zaimer Wright

Sayreville junior running back

Wright enjoyed a breakout season as a workhorse back with 1,401 rushing yards on 221 carries with 25 touchdowns last year as Sayreville reached the North 2, Group 4 semifinals. Also a safety, he had a high game of 270 yards and rushed for 95 yards or greater eight times.

Lotzier Brooks

Millville sophomore wide receiver

An All-New Jersey first-team selection as a freshman, Brooks caught 37 passes for 971 yards and 15 TDs to go along with well as 49.5 tackles, four interceptions and eight pass breakups on defense. He has offers from Georgia, Oregon, Penn State, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and a host of other Power 5 programs.

Ejani Shakir

Winslow senior wide receiver

The Pennsauken transfer garnered All-South Jersey second team honors as a junior with 28 receptions for 555 yards and six TDs on offense, and two interceptions and four pass breakups on the other side. He's a Penn State recruit.

Famah Toure

Irvington senior wide receiver

Toure caught 32 passes for 574 yards and three touchdowns last fall to help the Blue Knights win their first sectional title in their 102 year history. Toure is used all over the field, including running wildcat formations, and he eclipsed 1,000 all-purpose yards. At 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, Toure fielded multiple Division I offers, but opted to commit to Rutgers, where his brother Mohamed plays.

Joe Abill

Clifton tight end

Abill is a 6-1, 225-pound two-way stalwart for the team that last season lost to East Orange on a controversial call in the North Group 5 final. He's more of a blocker, but caught 12 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, and caught a trio of two-point conversions.

Don Bosco senior lineman

Bisontis is ranked as the No. 1 recruit in New Jersey in the Class of 2023 by 247 Sports and Rivals.com. The 6-5, 290-pounder was All-New Jersey first team selection last season and has committed to Texas A&M. He spearheads a line that is arguably New Jersey’s best and includes Syracuse commit Chris Moreno.

Shamir Boyd

Eastside (Camden) senior lineman

An All-New Jersey selection last year, Boyd was a monster on both lines for the Tigers, who won their third consecutive sectional title. On defense, he made 27 tackles, five sacks and a forced fumble. He has an offer from Monmouth.

Marcus Offer

Millville senior lineman

Offer earned All-South Jersey first-team honors as a freshman for the South/Central Group 4 regional champion Thunderbolts. He's moving from left tackle to center this season and is expected to make noise on the defensive line too.

Nick Oliveria

Clearview senior lineman

Oliveria is a three-year starter for the Pioneers and garnered All-South Jersey second -team recognition last fall. He starts at left tackle and is also a key piece of the defensive front with 24 tackles and 3 sacks a year ago. He's a Cincinnati commit.

Cole Skinner

Point Pleasant Boro senior lineman

The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Skinner, who has made a non-binding verbal commitment to Temple, helped lead an offense that rushed for almost 3,400 yards and 49 touchdowns a year ago.

John Stone

Washington Township senior lineman

The All-South Jersey first-team selection as a junior is being shifted from left tackle to left guard this season. He’s also going to get a lot more reps on the defensive side of the ball than in previous years. He's a Rutgers recruit.

Asgrimur Gudmundsson

Ridge senior kicker

Gudmundsson’s booming left leg helped Ridge reach the North 1, Group 4 semifinals by connecting on 38-of-38 point-after attempts and 6-of-7 field tries, while also averaging 33.3 yards per punt. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound Iceland native is nicknamed “The Frozen Toe.”
