Offense

Abe Goldblatt All-Tidewater Player of the Year

Jordan Bass

Phoebus, athlete, 6-4, 205, senior

  • Pittsburgh commit helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • Finished with 58 receptions for 1,530 yards and 30 touchdowns. Also had 41 touchdowns total.

  • On defense, he had 10 interceptions, including four pick-sixes.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection was the Peninsula District Offensive Player of the Year.

First team

Kevin White Jr.

Green Run, quarterback, 6-1, 180, senior

  • Class 5 Region A Offensive Player of the Year and the Beach District Offensive Player of the Year.

  • Helped lead the Stallions to the Class 5 Region A and Beach District titles.

  • Finished with 49 touchdown passes — the most in South Hampton Roads for a single season — and threw for 3,610 yards, which ranks third all-time. He also set a South Hampton Roads single-season record for total yards (4,722) and touchdowns (62).

Peyton Jones

Maury, running back, 5-10, 190, senior

  • Duke signee finished with nearly 2,000 all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the Commodores to their second consecutive state runner-up finish.

  • Led Maury to Class 5 Region B and Eastern District titles.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection was the Class 5 Region B Offensive Player of the Year and the Eastern District Offensive Player of the Year. He also was picked to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Shimique Blizzard

Western Branch, running back, 5-8, 195, senior

  • North Carolina A&T commit helped lead the Bruins to their first region title since 2002.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection rushed for 1,884 yards — including five games of 200 or more yards — and 22 touchdowns.

Keylen Adams

Green Run, wide receiver, 6-2, 190, junior

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection finished with 55 receptions for 1,064 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the Stallions to the Class 5 Region A and Beach District titles.

  • Adams, who has more than 25 scholarship offers, was a first-team Class 5 Region A and Beach District selection.

Paul Billups Jr.

Western Branch, wide receiver, 6-2, 185, senior

  • Finished with 1,083 yards and 15 touchdowns to lead the Bruins to their first region title since 2002.

  • North Carolina commit was a two-way star as he also played defensive back.

Brandyn Hillman

Churchland, athlete, 6-1, 190, senior

  • Notre Dame commit threw for 1,312 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushed for 1,236 yards and 22 touchdowns.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection was the Class 4 Region A Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and second-team all-region at defensive back and punter.

Jaylen Pretlow

Lafayette, athlete, 5-10, 165, senior

  • Naval Academy recruit finished with 37 receptions for 844 yards and 11 touchdowns.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection was the Bay Rivers District Offensive Player of the Year and a second-team pick at defensive back and punt returner.

David Anderson

Kecoughtan, lineman, 6-4, 280, senior

  • Duke commit was first-team All-Class 5 Region B on offense and defense, where he had 68 tackles — 26 for loss — and 16 sacks.

  • First-team All-Peninsula District on offense and defense.

Emery D’Urso

Phoebus, lineman, 6-4, 280, junior

  • Helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • First-team All-Peninsula District and helped pave the way for an offense that accounted for more than 3,600 yards.

Markus Hopson

Phoebus, lineman, 6-1, 265, sophomore

  • Helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • First-team All-Peninsula District and blocked for an offense that accounted for more than 3,600 yards.

Isaiah Whitehurst

Maury, lineman, 5-11, 270, senior

  • Helped lead the Commodores to the Class 5 Region B and Eastern District titles.

  • First-team All-Class 5 Region B and part of an offense that averaged more than 500 yards a game.

Brock Stukes

Oscar Smith, 6-3, 300, senior

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection helped lead the Tigers to the Southeastern District title.

  • North Carolina A&T commit didn’t allow a sack all season and was a dominant pulling guard.

Emilio Estrado

Grafton, kicker, 6-0, 185, senior

  • Made five field goals, including an area-best 47-yarder.

  • First-team All-Class 4 Region A

Defense

Mychal McMullin

Phoebus, lineman, 6-2, 285, senior

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • James Madison commit finished with more than 100 tackles and had a team-high 25 sacks. He was first-team All-Peninsula District.

Anthony Reddick

Phoebus, lineman, 6-3, 215, junior

  • Helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • Finished with more than 100 tackles and had 21 sacks.

Anthony Britton

Lake Taylor, lineman, 6-5, 275, senior

  • Virginia signee finished with more than 100 tackles and led Hampton Roads with 31 sacks.

  • Eastern District Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Class 4 Region A and picked to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Richard Martin Jr.

Warwick, linebacker, 6-1, 190, senior

  • First-team All-Class 4 Region A and first-team All-Peninsula District.

  • Finished with 81 tackles, including 13 for loss, to lead the Raiders to their first region championship in more than 30 years.

Kaleb Tillery

Phoebus, linebacker, 5-10, 190, sophomore

  • Helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • First-team All-Peninsula District standout finished with 95 tackles, seven pass breakups, six sacks and three interceptions.

Zakai Hall

Green Run, linebacker, 6-0, 220, senior

  • Helped lead the Stallions to Class 5 Region A and Beach District titles.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection finished with 114 tackles — 26 for loss — and was first-team All-Class 5 Region A and first-team All-Beach District.

Latavion Wynn

King’s Fork, linebacker, 5-11, 205, senior

  • Finished with 76 tackles — 14 for loss — and eight sacks.

  • First-team All-Class 4 Region A

Isaiah Simmons

Maury, linebacker, 5-11, 180, freshman

  • Helped lead the Commodores to the Class 5 Region B and Eastern District titles and a state runner-up finish.

  • Finished the season with more than 80 tackles and eight sacks and was named first-team All-Class 5 Region B and first-team All-Eastern District.

DJ Etheridge

Oscar Smith, defensive back, 6-0, 180, senior

  • Helped lead the Tigers to the Southeastern District title.

  • Finished with eight interceptions — including three in a win over King’s Fork — and had 44 tackles and four pass breakups.

Quran Boyd

Kempsville, defensive back, 5-10, 185, senior

  • Duke commit was named first-team All-Beach District.

  • First-team Class 5 Region A at wide receiver with 25 receptions for 405 yards.

Jordin Cooper

Cox, defensive back, 5-9, 165, senior

  • Beach District Defensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Class 5 Region A all-purpose player on offense and second-team all-region at receiver.

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection finished the season with 37 tackles and five interceptions, including two he returned for touchdowns.

Messiah Delhomme

Warwick, defensive back, 6-1, 200, sophomore

  • Helped lead the Raiders to their first region championship in more than 30 years.

  • Class 4 Region A Defensive Player of the Year; also starred on offense, where he had 1,252 all-purpose yards and 17 total touchdowns.

Zayveon Rogers

Phoebus, defensive back, 6-2, 175, senior

  • Helped lead the Phantoms to the Class 3 state title.

  • First-team All-Peninsula District standout finished with 71 tackles, 11 pass deflections and seven interceptions.

Brett Starling

Kecoughtan, punter, 6-6, 230, senior

  • Two-time All-Tidewater selection.

  • Averaged 40 yards per punt — including a long of 54 yards — with 18 inside the 20-yard line and seven inside the 10.
