Authors making appearances the week of Nov. 28:

Isabel Wilkerson: The author of “The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration” and “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” will appear in a Zoom event at 5 p.m. Dec. 1, part of Ohio State University’s Diversity Lecture & Cultural Arts Series. Wilkerson was the first African American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize in journalism. She is also winner of a National Humanities Medal. David Sedaris: The essayist, bestselling author and NPR contributor will appear in a live performance at 7:30 p.m. Dec 2, in the Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St. Sedaris is celebrating the launch of two new books, “The Best of Me” and “A Carnival of Snackery.” The event will include an audience Q&A and book signing. According to CAPA guidelines, all those in the audience older than 12 must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID19 test. Masks also are required. Tickets range from $54 to $64. Brene Brown: The New York Times bestselling author will launch her new book, “Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience,” in a live-streamed event at 8 p.m. Dec. 2, presented by Random House publishers, Gramercy Books and other national bookstores. In her book, Brown discusses 87 of the emotions and experiences that define what it means to be human as well as the skills needed for meaningful connection with others. Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston. Cost of the ticket for the online event, $30 plus tax, includes a hardcover copy of the book.
