Meet the Cast of ‘The Circle’ Season 2

Here’s a big ol’ irony: Last year, before the COVID lockdown began, we all binged Netflix’s The Circle, a reality competition starring social media influencers who are quarantined inside small, apartments who can only interact with each other through a screen. Back then, the idea of being locked inside a room and forced to talk to inanimate objects was almost quaint or (insert Alexis Rose voice) cute.

Now, quarantine is just a reality of the past year. And The Circle season 2, which premiered on Netflix on Wednesday, April 14, does hit different. It’s one of the very few shows that could easily shoot during the pandemic, considering that social distancing is a key component of the competition.

The second season was actually filmed in Manchester, England, though the B-roll will make you think it took place in a midwestern city in the U.S. The show, was, in fact, filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, though if you’re expecting anyone to make a reference to the virus, know right now that it’s not going to happen.

The show (at least, the first four episodes available right now) behaves like “quarantine” is a new, exciting concept in 2021. What is different about this season, though, is that the cast of this show is already familiar with The Circle and clearly watched the first season. All of the cast members are very interested in the “game” component of trying to be the most popular influencer—by whatever means possible. Part of this strategy, for some people, is to catfish the other cast members. This season, that decision is treated as more of a smart move and less a deceitful one.

It’s also clear this time around that this is a game, and everyone is simply trying to out-play the others. Here are the competitors you’ll meet in episode 1.

Savannah

When it comes to strategy in this game, Savannah, 24, is a pro. She takes no shit, and if you’re also a ruthless competitor, you’ll be on Team Savannah.

She’s a beauty and wellness influencer from Los Angeles, and since this game is literally a competition among influencers, Savannah is definitely someone to watch.

Lee

Lee is 58 and he’s decided to go the catfish route on The Circle. He's personifying someone named “River” who’s actually a friend of his and looks like this:

Lee is a romance novelist from Dallas, Texas, and he’s definitely a charmer. Lee is gay and he plays River as queer, too. His Circle apartment is definitely full of pride.

Lee decided to play River so the other players wouldn’t judge him as the old fuddy-duddy Boomer. But a conservative, out-of-touch Boomer he is not.

Chloe

If you watched Netflix's Too Hot to Handle season 1, you'll recognize Chloe. She’s 22 (was 21 when the show was filmed), from Essex, England, and she’s got energy for days.

Chloe is definitely a fan favorite, and while she’s not always the first one to get a joke or pop-culture reference, she’s got the most charisma of the group. The model is definitely one of those people who was meant to be on reality TV, and coming from a reality TV devotee, this is a huge compliment. Some people are just characters destined for the camera, and Chloe is one of those people.

Bryant

Ohhh, Bryant. Bryant, 27, is definitely the yogi-bro of the crew, and he owns the stereotype. He’s a Chico, California native and is the co-founder of Modern Nirvana, a lifestyle brand that seems to be about as woo-woo as they come.

Bryant is a firm believer in breathwork and is a breathwork instructor. Namaste, Bryant.

Terilisha

Terilisha is one of the older players of the group at 34 (not old at all!), but because of that, she has her act together in life. She’s a full-time substitute teacher from Dallas, who describes herself as a Leo and a vegan. She also mentions that she sings “a little.” But, uh, she’s being modest. You can listen to her 2019 EP The Blue Heart here. She’s also an early powerhouse on the show—let’s just say you want to be in this woman’s corner.

Jack

Jack is another catfish on the show. He’s playing the role of one of his real-life friends, Emily, whom he describes as a sorority girl without giving her much other substance (as a former “sorority girl,” I hate to see it). Jack is 20 years old, from New Haven, Connecticut, and an undergraduate student at the University of Chicago.

On this show, the players usually have access to a hot tub, and very specific personalities will hang out in theirs as they scheme their strategies. Jack has a hot tub personality.

Courtney

Aww, Courtney. This cutie is 28, from L.A., and is definitely the sweetheart funny-guy you’ll want to root for. He co-hosts Overheard in the Pantry, a pop-culture and celebrity podcast.

He definitely has a future in reality TV if he wants one.

Deleesa

Deleesa is also a catfish. She is playing the role of her husband, Trevor. She’s 32, from the Bronx, and has a baby daughter named Toni who has her own Instagram account.

She’s a beauty vlogger among many other things, and definitely has the enterprising strategy you need to win this game.
