Meet county executive finalists

Travis County will host a meet and greet with the finalists for county executive for Health and Human Services from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom.

Each candidate will get 30 minutes to answer questions from a moderator. Members of the public can submit questions before the event by visiting traviscountytx.gov/publicforum or questions can be emailed to publicforum@traviscountytx.gov.

The deadline for submitting questions ahead of the meet-and-greet is 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The public will have opportunities to ask questions during the virtual event by sending a chat message on Zoom or by calling 800-304-1055. Not all questions may be answered due to the time limit.

The finalists are Juan Duarte, Lawrence Lyman and Pilar Sanchez.

The county executive for Health and Human Services has direct management responsibility for the Travis County Health and Human Services and the Travis County Texas AgriLife Extension office. The county executive also has direct accountability for the Community Development Block Grant, Public Health and Animal Services provided to Travis County residents via an interlocal agreement with the city of Austin.
