Meet Greater New Bedford Regional Voc-Tech High School's Top 10 graduates of 2023

NEW BEDFORD — The following students were named to the Top 10 of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School's class of 2023.

Amber Hooda
Amber Hooda

1. Amber Hooda, the valedictorian, is a graduate of the Visual Design and Communications Program. She will attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and major in Bioengineering. Amber has most enjoyed the interpersonal, deep connections she has made during her time at GNBVT. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Mentorship program, and Business Professionals of America.

Kelsey Urel
Kelsey Urel

2. Kelsey Urel, is a graduate of the Dental Assisting Program. She will attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and major in Biology. Kelsey has most enjoyed making friends and her experience in the Dental Assisting program. She was the captain of the varsity soccer team and is a member of SkillsUSA.

Tobe Cynar
Tobe Cynar

3. Tobe Cynar is a graduate of the Information Support Services program. He will attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst and major in Electrical Engineering. Tobe has most enjoyed working collaboratively with other members of Information Support Services. He is the president of the Networking Club, is a member of the Engineering and Robotics Club, and is a member of the Business Professionals of America organization.

Alyssa Santos
Alyssa Santos

4. Alyssa Santos is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program. She will attend Bristol Community College to study Dental Hygiene. Alyssa has enjoyed making meaningful connections with her friends and teachers and participating in the Co-op program. She is a member of Rachel’s Challenge.

Jasmin Lux
Jasmin Lux

5. Jasmin Lux is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program. She will attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and major in Biology. She has most enjoyed making friends. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Mentor program.

Nathan Cordeiro
Nathan Cordeiro

6. Nathan Cordeiro is a graduate of the Electrical Technology program. He will attend the University of Massachusetts Boston to study Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the National Honor Society and played soccer all four years. Nathan has most enjoyed the relationships he built, his time spent playing sports, and gaining experience in the electrical field.

Lily Mercer
Lily Mercer

7. Lily Mercer is a graduate of the Legal and Protective Services program. She will be attending the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to study Political Science on the Pre-Law track. Lily is a member of the National Honor Society. During her time at GNBVT, Lily has most enjoyed meeting new people and making friends. She also values her experience working in her Co-op position.

Ethan Medeiros
Ethan Medeiros

8. Ethan Medeiros is a graduate of the Business Technology program. He will be studying Accounting at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Ethan was a member of the Business Professionals of America. Ethan has most enjoyed learning about the business world and the friendships he made with the students in his career and technical program.

Madison Gaudencio
Madison Gaudencio

9. Madison Gaudencio is a graduate of the Nurse/Health Assisting program. Upon graduation, she will be traveling to 4 countries in Central America through EF tours. For the following semester in the spring, she is planning to return to school, pursuing a major in the healthcare field. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a member of the Rachel’s Challenge Club and SkillsUSA. During her time at GNBVT, Madison enjoyed participating in the co-op program.

Nicholas Anaya-Maldonado
Nicholas Anaya-Maldonado

10. Nicholas Anaya-Maldonado is a graduate of the Electrical Technology program. Nicholas plans to continue working in the union and obtain his Journeyman’s license. Nicholas has most enjoyed making friends, participating in the Co-op program, and GNBVT school activities.
