Meet the headliners for this year’s LaughFest

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Just over a month away from the start of LaughFest, the artists who will be taking the stage have been announced.

The four headlining acts are Tammy Pescatelli, Josh Johnson, Piff the Magic Dragon and Demetri Martin. Tom Papa will also be performing as this year’s Red Door Gala host, which will conclude the festival.

“We have a great lineup for this year’s LaughFest and Red Door Gala that will bring doses of laughter to West Michigan,” President of Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids Wendy Wigger said in a statement. “With a variety of seriously fun events for all ages, this annual festival gives the community an opportunity to laugh and have fun, while raising awareness and funds for our free support programs.”

LaughFest sets dates for 14th annual event

Pescatelli will be performing two shows during LaughFest on March 7 at Gun Lake Casino and March 8 at First Congressional UCC in Lowell. She has appeared on late-night shows in the past and won Comedy Central’s Standup Showdown.

Johnson is considered Comedy Central’s “most watched comedian ever” with over 40 million views across all of the platforms. His new standup special “Up Here Killing Myself” is now available on Peacock. He will be performing at Midtown on March 8 and 9.

Piff the Magic Dragon will be at the Fountain Street Church on March 8. He appeared previously on “America’s Got Talent” and was crowned the champion on TBS’ “Tournament of Laughs.” He blends comedy with a magic show in his act.

Demetri Martin will also be performing at Fountain Street Church on March 9. He is best known for his hour-long standup specials and he previously hosted the Comedy Central show “Important Things with Demetri Martin.

The B.O.B. and Dr. Grins Comedy Club will host shows as part of the Clean Comedy Showcase which are designed to be enjoyed by those of all ages. There will be dinner and brunch options depending on the time of the shows from March 7 through March 9. Some of the acts include Tina Friml, Arvin Mitchell, Nancy Norton, Andrew Orolfo and Michael Rowland.

In addition to these shows, there will also be other free events being held across Grand Rapids, Wayland and Lowell that people can attend.
