Meet an independent king, energetic people-lover and party animal at area shelters

Loch

Breed: Border collie mix

Age: 1 year old

Loch’s biggest goal, besides getting adopted, is to see how many tennis balls he can fit into his mouth. So far, his record is two. Tennis balls happen to be his favorite toy, and he’s an expert at fetch.

Loch enjoys spending time with his people, and has gotten to experience a field trip or two during his time at Wayside Waifs. He would love to find a family that likes to walk and hang out in the yard because it’s so much fun to explore. He’s really smart: He knows “sit,” “look” and “wait.”

He loves to learn, so he is eager to learn more with positive reinforcement. He is a pretty easy walker, and appears to be house-trained at the shelter, which makes the transition to a home easy. Loch is ready to meet his people, and hopes to see you soon.

Titan

Breed: Pug/Chihuahua mix

Age: 8 years old

Titan was found as a stray before someone brought him to Wayside. Unfortunately, no one came to get him, but that’s OK. Titan has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite, with his typical Chihuahua demeanor.

He’s an independent king who lives life by his own rules. He’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who understands his quirks. It takes Titan a little while to warm up to new people. However, you see a different man once he gets comfortable.

He loves butt scratches, and he’ll be a fun companion for someone who can respect his space. He is a great walking buddy, and appears to be house-trained. Titan gets a little overwhelmed by energetic dogs, so he would do best being your only pup, or coexisting with a low-energy friend. Are you looking for the perfect mix of friendly and independent? Come meet Titan today.

Smokie

Breed: A mix of huskie, terrier (and many more)

Age: 6 months old

Yippee, I’m your girl, and I’m here to get the party started. Should I run around the yard with my dog friends first, and then you and I can do some playing, too? That’s kinda my jam.

Everyone tells me I’m a typical puppy, but I don’t know what that means. I take a few seconds to make sure you’re my friend, but then I’m all in on everything that’s going on. Are there toys? Is there another dog or two? Who wants to play with me?

When we’re done playing, I sure am tired. I like to snuggle right next to you when I run out of energy. You make everything warm and comfy and nice. I’ll get bigger some day, probably around 55 pounds. Also, every single person I meet tells me how pretty I am and that they haven’t ever seen a dog my color with dark speckles like mine.

I know how to go in my crate like a good girl, and I’m learning that I’m always supposed to potty outside. I would really like to meet my furever people. Are you them?

Smokie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. She’s ready to come home today. Her adoption fee is $275. All you have to do is apply at PawsitiveTailsKC.org, and you can meet her once you’re approved. Click on Apply to Adopt below to get started!

Wayside Waifs is able to welcome visitors without an appointment. To learn about the adoption process and available animals, visit www.waysidewaifs.org
