Meet Joseph Case High School's Top 10 graduates of 2022

SWANSEA — The following students graduated from Joseph Case High School at the academic top of the senior class.

Alexis Ciallella

Alexis Ciallella

Alexis Ciallella is the daughter of Brian and Pattie Ciallella. She was a cheerleader, a member of the Dance Team, Case High Theatre, School Store and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Honor Roll. She teaches fitness classes, enjoys dance, and volunteered at cheer clinics and the Martin House. Alexis will attend Stonehill College to become an elementary school teacher, majoring in Elementary Education and Psychology.

Winthrop Golembewski

Winthrop Golembewski is the son of Christopher Golembewski and Danielle Surprenant. He was a member of the tennis, golf, and track teams, the math and Mad Science teams, and the School Store. He enjoys basketball and building models. He achieved High Honors and is a member of the National Honor Society. Winthrop will major in Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute to pursue a career in that area.

Lauren Lloyd is the daughter of Kyle and Karen Lloyd. Lauren participated in the Mock Trial Team (Captain), Math Team, Cardinal Newspaper, and Unified Sports. She received Highest Honors and belongs to the National Honor Society. She competes with Just Dance! and their Big Sister Program and is Head of Dance at Courageous Kids Camp of Stone Coast Community Church. Lauren will major in Political Science and English at Salve Regina University and plans to become a public defense attorney.

Eleanor Miranda

Eleanor Miranda is the daughter of Joseph and Kara Miranda. She participated in tennis, yearbook, Iberian Club, School Store, and was a Class Officer. She achieved Highest Honors, is a member of the National Honor Society, and was named a 2022 South Coast Conference Academic All-Star. In addition to her interests in art and board games, she volunteered at the library and Knights of Columbus. Eleanor wants to teach high school math and will attend Bridgewater State University with a major in Mathematics and Secondary Education.

Caroline Pinto

Caroline Pinto is the daughter of Victor and Kimberly Pinto. In addition to participating in the Cardinal Newspaper, Case High Theatre, and the Iberian Club, she also played volleyball and softball. She was a recipient of the Superintendent’s Award and the Harvard Book Award, was named a South Coast Conference Academic All-Star, achieved Highest Honors, and belongs to the National Honor Society. She likes to travel and has volunteered in softball clinics and with the Crystal Springs School. Caroline wants to become a U.S. Ambassador and will study International and Public Affairs at Brown University.

Jake Silveira

Jake Silveira, Valedictorian, is the son of Robert and Amanda Silveira. He played in Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands and volunteered with Taps Across America. He served as President of the National Honor Society, achieved Highest Honors, and was named 2022 Student of the Year by the Swansea Veterans Association. Jake will attend UMASS, Amherst as a major in Mechanical Engineering to pursue a career in that field.

Abigail Sirois is the daughter of Christen Sirois, John Sirois, and Maurice and Norma Cote. She was Co-Captain of the soccer, basketball, and softball teams, and worked in the School Store. She volunteers with the Somerset Senior Center, Case Summer, and Old School Hoop Basketball Camps. She achieved Highest Honors, is a member of the National Honor Society, and is a Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Scholarship recipient. Abigail will go to UMASS, Amherst to become a biomedical engineer.

Jason Vasconcellos

Jason Vasconcellos is the son of John and Brenda Vasconcellos. He ran spring and winter track, and played in the Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands. He is a recipient of the Rensselaer Medal, the Baycoast Bank Science Fair Award, was a South Coast Conference Academic All-Star, and is a member of the National Honor Society. He has been an active fundraiser for music and played in the Dartmouth Community Band. Jason will be attending the University of New Hampshire majoring in Biology, ultimately seeking a career as an environmental scientist.

Michael Vasconcellos, Salutatorian, is the son of John and Brenda Vasconcellos. In addition to participating in the Marching, Jazz and Concert Bands, and Math team, he also ran track. He was a South Coast Academic All-Star and is a member of the National Honor Society. He played in community bands, fundraised for music, and enjoys boxing and weight training. Michael plans to become a biomedical engineer by pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Stella Wing

Stella Wing is the daughter of Stephen Wing and Deborah Clemons. She played tennis and Unified basketball, and was a member of Case High Theatre, yearbook, Iberian Club, and the Cardinal Newspaper. She attained Highest Honors and received the Brown University Book Award. She volunteered at the Swansea Council on Aging and Gardiner School, and spends time baking and reading. Stella will attend Emerson College with a Major in Communications and hopes to work in marketing or human resources.
