Meet Manisha Shanbhag, TALK Greenville's 25 Most Beautiful Women in the Upstate 2022 Honoree

Manisha Shanbhag is focused on the heart. As a physician, she is proud of having opened an Adult Congenital Heart Disease clinic.

“I am incredibly passionate about the plight of this resilient but highly vulnerable, high-risk, young adult population,” she says. “To be able to align my passion, medical training and desire with an opportunity to make an impact on my own hometown has and will continue to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.”

Shanbhag’s commitment to serving others is seen in her “Books for Boos” program, which distributes thousands of books to trick-or-treaters each Halloween, in service to her children and patients, and in her involvement in her family’s Spartanburg restaurant, Heirloom.

“I love reading and the power of literacy to expand a child’s mind. I would love to make Books for Boos a non-profit that could be easily replicated throughout the United States,” she says. “I would also like to write a series of children’s books and some targeted toward teenagers and pregnant women... Finally, I will be becoming more involved with our family business and its impact within our community. We’ve had a robust, innate history of DEI culture for decades, and I truly believe it is a model for other small businesses.”
