Meet Mo, North Carolina's First "Dog Travel Agent"

If you can't imagine traveling without Fido, Visit North Carolina wants to make your travels in the Old North State a step above the rest: The state's official travel-planning destination has hired its first dog travel agent, Mo, a rescue pup from Charlotte. Selected from a pool of more than 500 candidates, Mo will offer travelers firsthand reports on DogTravelAgent.com. The sweet dog boasts nearly 40 (canine) years of "field work" experience all around the state. In her role, Mo will provide trip and adventure ideas, and also post on Visit North Carolina's social media accounts to document her travels.

“Visit North Carolina is thrilled to welcome Mo to our pack,” said Wit Tuttell, executive director of Visit North Carolina, in a press release. “Nearly half of all dog owners now travel with their pets, and Mo will be an effective resource for finding the most welcoming hotels, campgrounds, parks and trails, breweries, restaurants, bakeries and other places that cater to tail-waggers. Our goal is to make North Carolina the first place that comes to mind for travel with dogs, and we’re confident Mo is the key to making this happen.”

A seasoned traveler, Mo's first trip was tackling the rugged terrain of Crowders Mountain State Park in Kings Mountain. Since then, she's enjoyed many more action-packed trips in North Carolina, including one particularly memorable beach vacation at Oak Island with her cousin Alex.
