Meet pop culture celebs, horror stars at Mad Monster Expo

Pop culture icons and characters from classic horror movies will converge in Concord soon for the annual Mad Monster Expo, a three-day fan convention happening Aug. 26-28 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton.

In addition to celebrity meet and greets, there will be more than 100 vendors selling collectibles and memorabilia, speaker panels and Q&A sessions.

Celebrity guests scheduled to appear include: Tom Atkins (“Halloween III,” “Creepshow”); Dee Wallace (“E.T.,” “Cujo”); Henry Thomas (“E.T.,” “Doctor Sleep”); Dick Warlock (“Halloween II,” “Halloween III,” “Firestarter”); Butch Patrick (“The Munsters,” “Lidsville”); Barbara Crampton (“Re-Animator,” “From Beyond”); John Kassir (“Tales from the Crypt”); Ola Ray (“Thriller,” “48 Hours”); Harrod Blank (“Killer Klowns from Outer Space”); Dane DiLiegro (“Prey,” “American Horror Stories”); and Denis O’Hare (“American Horror Story,” “True Blood”).

Convention hours are from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Daily passes start at $35. Three-day passes are also available. Photo ops with celebrity guests need to be purchased separately from admission passes. Click here for more information.

Children ages 12 and younger will be admitted for free with an adult.
