The name on lotsa queer lips has been “WNBA.” That’s because the focus has shifted to them for the past few weeks as various teams played their way through (and won!) the finals. Queer babes especially have always zoomed in on women’s basketball, but with more players coming out over the years, it has become even more popular in sapphic circles – among those who are there for the game and those who are there to just look at the people playing the game.

This season was especially gay, with folks like Kehlani showing up to games and Gabrielle Union—the root of many a dyke—popping up too. The Las Vegas Aces took home the championship again this year and to celebrate, here are some good gay stats on the queer babes of The Aces. I don’t know much about basketball but I know a lot about dykin’ so let’s get into it!!

Becky Hammon

The coach leads the way!! Before becoming a coach, Becky (Rebecca) played with The New York Liberty in the early aughts. Becky’s partner is Brenda Milano, and they have two kiddos together! Very dope that in the WNBA, the winning team has a queer woman as coach!

Sydney Colson

Basketball star, TV star, and queer –Sydney Colson is probably one of the most online ass players you’ll come across. She is very unserious and doesn’t talk too much about her identity or put her business out there, which I think is kinda dope. You can catch her in “The Syd + TP Show” which is an unscripted series with Theresa Plaisance, who also played on The Aces.

Chelsea Gray

Chelsea Gray is one of the more outspoken queer folks on the team. She has done numerous interviews about her queer identity, acknowledging the importance of being a role model to other queer individuals who may look up to her. She is also hella married to another athlete, Tipesa Moorer. They are very cute and always loved up on each other and I LUV TEW CEE IT!!

Candace Parker

You may know her as the player who was able to keep people out of her business for a few years. She was whole-ass married to Anna Petrakova for two years and no one knew! She announced her marriage on Instagram on their two-year anniversary and that is also when everyone learned she was queer. Iconic. She's a veteran player who has also won WNBA titles with the LA Sparks and the Chicago Sky. This is her first year with The Aces and she got to add this championship notch to her belt!
