Meet Somersworth High School's top 10 students in Class of 2023

SOMERSWORTH — Somersworth High School has announced its top 10 graduates in the Class of 2023.

Here's a look at each of the students' accomplishments and future plans:

Quintina Zheng

Quintina Zheng is the daughter of Faye You and Jishan Zheng. Quintina will be attending Colby College to major in biochemistry on a premed track. Also accepted to Amherst College, Saint Anselm College, University of New Hampshire, University of Virginia and Wesleyan University.

Quintina served as the treasurer of Class Council for three years, treasurer of Student Council for two years, parliamentarian of National Honor Society for two years, Educational Talent Search, highest honors all four years and is a Gates Scholarship Recipient.

Calvin Lambert

Calvin Lambert is the son of Melissa and Jeremy Lambert and has two younger siblings, Aby and Carter Lambert. Calvin will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a double major in actuarial mathematics and data science, and is also committed to the WPI football team.

Calvin is a four-sport athlete, playing football, hockey, rugby (captain of each), and track and field. Calvin has been named to the all-state football team in all four of his high school years, and was back-to-back NH Division 4 Player of the year in his junior and senior seasons.

Calvin is an NHIAA scholar athlete, Joe Yukica Award recipient, Donald E. York Award recipient, and Seacoast Sports Awards Offensive Player of the Year finalist. President of his class, Calvin is a three-year member of the National Honor Society, and involved with the Student Athlete Leadership Team and Student Leaders group. During his four years at SHS, Calvin has made highest honors each semester, while sharing over 400 hours of community service and 200 hours of tutoring.

Tanya Latjeno

Tanya Latjeno, is the daughter of Ferendina Moningka and Tony Latjeno (who live in Indonesia), but lives in Somersworth with grandparents Lambertus Moningka and Laurina Torar. Tanya will attend Wellesley College, to major in neuroscience on the premed track. She was also accepted to Emmanuel College, Keene State College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Providence College, Simmons University, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, University of Massachusetts-Lowell, University of New Hampshire, Wheaton College.

Tanya created the Psychology Club for the 2021-2022 school year, has served on Class Council as secretary sophomore and junior year, and vice president senior year. She ran track and field for three years, and is an active member of the National Honor Society, Upward Bound and Multicultural Club. Tanya is a Dell Scholar Class of 2023, Horatio Alger State Scholar, and received highest honors all four years at SHS. Community activities include the Indonesian church community, Rochester Child Care Center, Gather food pantry and serving as Indonesian translator for the 24th World Scout Jamboree.

Alexis McCallion

Alexis McCallion is the daughter of Thomas and Laurie McCallion. Alexis will attend Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, majoring in diagnostic medical sonography. She was also accepted to SNHU, NHTI and Quinnipiac University.

She was a three-year member of the National Honor Society, serving as president in her senior year. She was captain of the volleyball team for four years and for the championship this past season. Alexis was president her junior year, and a four-year member of the Class Council. Alexis has received high honors all four years of high school while balancing a job at Aroma Joe's and 40-plus hours of community service.

Michael Doyle is the son of John and Marisol Doyle. Michael will attend the University of Massachusetts-Amherst (Isenberg School of Management) to major in management. He was also accepted to the University of New Hampshire, University of New Mexico and University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Michael’s extra-curricular activities include: Ski Club (seven years), drawing, writing, video games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Michael is a member of the National Honor Society, and has received highest honors all four years.

Megan Burgess is the daughter of Mike and Wendy Burgess. Megan will attend Simmons University to major in Social Work. Megan was also accepted to the University of New Hampshire, University of Vermont, University of Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, University of Connecticut, Bridgewater State University, Providence College, Suffolk University and University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Harper Blank is the daughter of Aili Blank and Brian Blank. Harper will attend Simmons University, as an undeclared major, but interested in a liberal arts degree. Also accepted to University of Rhode Island, UMass-Boston, University of New Hampshire and Keene State University. During her high school years, Harperhas participated in track and soccer, was a soccer captain her senior year, and participated in ROSO club soccer in the spring. Harper was in SHS Theatre Department productions in a supporting role her junior year, and the lead her senior year.

K. Andrea Miranda is the daughter of Luis Miranda and Shirley Vera Cruz. Andrea will attend Keene State College with a dual major of Graphic Design and Communications. She was also accepted to Suffolk University, University of New Hampshire, Colby-Sawyer College, New England College, Southern New Hampshire University, Great Bay Community College, and NHTI. Andrea is a co-founder of the Multicultural Club, a member of Upward Bound, and a member of the National Honor Society, and Class of 2023 Historian.

Sienna Jeffries is the daughter of Charlene DiBenedetto and Edward Jeffries. Sienna will attend Simmons University to major in Political Science. Also accepted to University of New Hampshire, Keene State University, Husson University, Fitchburg State, Great Bay Community College. During her high school years, Sienna wasactive in Drama, Upward Bound, Girl Scouts, Student Council, Class Council, and the National Honor Society. Sienna has received highest honors all four years of high school, was named Hilltopper of the Month for April 2023, and has completed 40-plus hours of community service in both 2022 and 2023.

Owen Clark is the son of Kari Clark and Scott Clark. Owen will attend Franklin Pierce University to major in business administration. During his years at SHS, Owen was active in three sports: football, rugby and track. A member of the National Honor Society, Owen is a scholar athlete, and has provided community service through the Table Of Plenty soup kitchen.
