Meet the All-South Mississippi Boys Basketball Team for the 2022-23 season

Another year of basketball on the Mississippi Coast produced tremendous games, breakout stars and established legacies.

This year’s All-South Team is represented by players and teams who shined in South Mississippi and across the state. Picayune represented the area by reaching the 5A state championship game. For the Maroon Tide’s run, Eric Vianney is our Coach of the Year.

On the other side of the region, Kedrick Osby’s scoring prowess at Moss Point remained on display and earned him the Player of the Year honor.

Here’s the full All-South Mississippi boy’s basketball team.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Eric Vianney, Picayune

In his fifth season at the helm, Vianney led the Maroon Tide to the 5A state championship game. Armed with guard Josh Holmes and wing Troy Carter, Picayune tore through its district with a perfect 8-0 record and used a seven-game win streak to reach the final stage.

The Maroon Tide were the only Coast team, boys or girls, to play for a state championship this season. Though Picayune ultimately fell to Hattiesburg, Vianney became the first Maroon Tide coach since the legendary Dean Shaw to record three 20-win seasons.
