Meet Sussex County’s 1st Baby Of 2022 Born At Newton Med. Center

NEWTON, NJ — Born this past Sunday, River Rose Wasberg is Sussex County’s first baby the stork dropped off to Newton Medical Center in 2022.

Parents Linda Woelki and Matt Wasberg of Sussex welcomed their daughter River Rose at the medical center on Sunday, Jan. 2 at 9:21 p.m.

The baby girl weighed 9 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 21 inches long, according to an Atlantic Health System spokesperson.

Other 2022 Atlantic Health “first 2022 babies" are baby boy Rudra Rakhe born to Ambika N Nagar and Rohit Rakhe on New Year’s Day at Summit’s Overlook Medical Center at 12:02 a.m.; and baby girl Mia Barsalona born to Jessikah and Nick Barsalona at Morristown Medical Center minutes later, at 12:21 a.m.

The titles for the first babies born in 2022 at Atlantic Health’s Hackettstown Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains are still up for grabs.
