Meet the top 4 players who could decide who wins the KHSAA girls soccer championship

The KHSAA girls soccer state tournament semifinals begin Wednesday at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington. West Jessamine takes on Elizabethtown at 4 p.m. with Lexington Catholic and South Oldham's showdown to follow.

Marley Kahle, South Oldham

What to know: Senior forward Marley Kahle has been the Dragons' top scoring weapon all season. Kahle's scored 29 goals and has a team-high 17 assists. She scored the first two goals in the Dragons' semifinal 5-1 win over Bowling Green on Friday. Next season she's committed to play for Appalachian State.

Campbell Wallace, Elizabethtown

What to know: Elizabethtown's Campbell Wallace is one of the best scores remaining in the tournament. She leads the Panthers with 33 goals (tied for 30th in KHSAA) and has 15 assists. In her last game, the sophomore had one assist in the Panthers' 2-0 win over Owensboro Catholic.

Mary Martin Hampton, Lexington Catholic

What to know: Mary Martin Hampton helped lead Lexington Catholic deep into the state tournament last year, and she could be the Knights' best shot at taking home the title this year. Hampton (37 goals, 10 assists in 2022) has paced Lexington Catholic throughout the tournament and came up big with two goals in the Knights' 3-0 win over Bishop Brossart in the quarterfinals.

Kylie Archer, West Jessamine

What to know: Kylie Archer played for Lexington Catholic when the Knights made the state championship in 2020. Now that she's with West Jessamine, the senior's experience could play a big role for the Colts this week. Archer, a Marshall commit, leads the Colts in goals (16) and assists (10).
