The winning numbers for the jackpot drawing were: 32, 19, 13, 33, 20, with a Mega Ball of 14.

The ticket sold in Florida brings an end to a streak of 31 straight drawings, spanning over four months, since April 18. At $1.58 billion, the payout is officially the third-largest ever in U.S. history.

Were there Mega Millions winners in Tuesday's drawing?

In addition to the Florida big-money winner, there are other, smaller prizes still awarded. There are 7,056,452 winning tickets at all other prize levels and seven tickets winning the game's second-tier prize matching the five white balls.

Two, sold in Florida and North Carolina, are worth $2 million each thanks to Megapliers (available in most states with an extra $1 purchase), doubling the value 2X on Tuesday night. The other five Match 5 tickets were sold in California, Pennsylvania, Texas (two) and West Virginia. Those tickets won the standard second-tier prize.

How many balls do I need to win Mega Millions prizes? How much are tickets?

Matching just the Mega Ball is worth a $2 prize, the same cost as a ticket. Paying for a Megaplier will cost you an extra dollar, but can boost your prize money if you match others.

For example, you can win $10 if you match three regular balls. Doing so with a megaplier of 2, increases your prize to $20, a megaplier of 3 pushes it up to $30, and so on.

In Oklahoma, and states outside of California, matching all five white balls is worth up to $1 million. Should the megaplier be 5, a potential prize of $5 million is on the table for a match five.

Can I buy a Mega Millions ticket in one state and redeem it in another state?

No. Tickets must be redeemed in the state where they are purchased since Mega Millions tickets are sold by individual lotteries. Most lotteries typically offer a claim-by-mail option for most prize levels and can be found on their respective lottery websites.

Odds of winning Mega Millions

The biggest Mega Millions jackpot was won on Oct. 23, 2018 in South Carolina. It was worth $1.537 billion.
