No one won the Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday night, which is currently at an estimated $85 million.

Last month, the Mega Millions jackpot topped $1.602 billion, the largest in Mega Millions history.

Eight Mega Millions jackpots have been awarded in 2023 so far, the first time that has happened since 2016. The last Mega Million jackpot was awarded on Aug. 15 for $39 million.

The winning numbers for Tuesday night's drawing were 10, 31, 42, 43 and 55, and the Mega Ball was 8. The Megaplier was 2X.

When is the next Mega Millions drawing?

Numbers are drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays. The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 11 p.m. Pools close at 10:45 p.m.

How much could you win?

Winning numbers in the next jackpot drawing on Friday would receive an estimated $85 million. Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, with one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments.

Winners can also choose a one-time lump sum payment. A jackpot winner in Friday's drawing would receive an estimated $41.2 million lump-sum cash payment before taxes.

How many lotto numbers in Mega Millions do you need to win a prize?

You only need to match one number to win a prize: the Mega Ball, worth $2. If you do not match the Mega Ball, you will need a minimum of three white balls to win a prize, worth $10.

How to play the Mega Millions

Mega Millions costs $2 to play.

There are nine total ways to win, with prizes ranging from $2 to the entire jackpot.

  • Match 5 White Balls + Mega Ball: Jackpot

  • Match 5 White Balls: $1 million

  • Match 4 White Balls + Mega Ball: $10,000

  • Match 4 White Balls: $500

  • Match 3 White Balls + Mega Ball: $200

  • Match 3 White Balls: $10

  • Match 2 White Balls + Mega Ball: $10

  • Match 1 White Ball + Mega Ball: $4

  • Match Mega Ball: $2

Players can pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers: five different numbers from the white balls numbered 1-70 and one number from the gold balls numbered 1-25.
