Megaplex expands to include ‘more’ in entertainment centers

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The Megaplex brand is expanding to be more than just movie theaters after the Larry H. Miller Company announced new Megaplex Entertainment centers in St. George’s Desert Color community and South Jordan’s Daybreak community.

The new Megaplex Entertainment will be a place where you can “get it all in one place,” referring to a night out on the town, according to the company.

Fans of Megaplex Theatres will still be able to find their favorite movies in Megaplex-quality auditoriums but these entertainment centers will also include more amenities to enjoy. For example, bowling alleys with lane-side dining, an arcade complete with prizes to win, food and beverage options, private and party event spaces, and more.

Project development for the St. George location is underway in the Desert Color community, a housing development in the southern part of town near the Utah-Arizona border. More details on the development will be “coming soon.”

The first Megaplex Entertainment location will open in downtown Daybreak, where construction is already underway. Officials with LHM said the complex will be located next to the new Salt Lake Bees ballpark which is scheduled to open in 2025.

“We’re excited to partner with Woodbury Corporation to bring our newest entertainment concept to the residents of southern Utah, said LHM Sports and Entertainment President Michelle Smith. “As a company, we’re working to ‘Enrich Lives’ by developing meaningful places that build community, create jobs, and bring people together.”

Woodbury Corporation Senior Vice President Danny Woodbury said the company was committed to making the development a “regional gathering space” that offers the best in entertainment, dining and shopping.
