Megasite Authority of West Tennessee approves Blue Oval suppliers
Board members of the Megasite Authority of West Tennessee, a development authority currently overseeing Blue Oval City, approved the general site plans for the mega site's suppliers.
Megasite Authority CEO Clay Bright led the Wednesday morning meeting at the Southwest Development District in Jackson where he explained that a "yes" vote from board members will allow suppliers to get "construction-ready." The location of suppliers, who will sublease at Ford's Blue Oval City, was not specified during general site plan approval in March 2022.

"Originally we just approved the site plan for Ford, that was last year, and today they were locating where the suppliers were going so it's just an update to that approval of the general site plan," Bright said.
Facility blueprints marked with green squares indicated the location of Blue Oval suppliers that board members would vote to approve. Though supplier specifics weren't disclosed, Bright pointed out that one of the six spaces in question will manufacture car frames.
In a roll call vote, approval for the supplier plans was achieved unanimously.
With the approval of suppliers granted, the corresponding documents will be submitted to the state fire marshal's office to obtain building permits and zoning ordinances.
