Meghan Markle returned to her official royal duties on Thursday to launch a clothing line in conjunction with her patronage, Smart Works. The event marks the first for her since being on maternity leave following the birth of Archie Harrison in May, and while she looked stylish as usual, the Duchess of Sussex also gave a subtle nod to Princess Diana.

For the event, the duchess wore a white button-down and black trousers from the Smart Set Capsule Collection, a clothing line in which proceeds will benefit unemployed women. However, she elevated her look further with Princess Diana's earrings and a gold cuff bracelet.

According to Cosmopolitan, this is the second time the duchess has donned the earrings and bracelet together. She first wore them in October 2018 in Australia, just before announcing her pregnancy. Diana first wore the earrings to a banquet back in 1986 and the bracelet in 1989.

Several comparisons have been made between Meghan and Diana, and it's safe to say the two would have shared a passion for helping those, especially women, in need. And wearing Diana's jewelry to the capsule collection's launch was seemingly a nice way to honor her late mother-in-law and bring a piece of her along for comfort.

The Smart Set Capsule Collection features seven pieces created by Jigsaw, Marks and Spencer, John Lewis and Partners and a close friend of the duchess, Misha Nonoo. The pieces are now available for purchase on the designer's websites and range in price, from a Marks and Spencer dress for $32.50 to a blazer by Jigsaw for around $247.
