Meghan Markle Just Confirmed That Baby Archie Does Indeed Have Red Hair

Baby Archie just turned five months old, and hit another important milestone. Meghan and Harry's son recently attended his first playgroup class in Windsor.

“I just took Archie for his first [playgroup] class," Meghan said at the annual Wellchild Awards in central London this evening. "It was a lot of fun. He loved it.”

The duke and duchess spoke with 11-year-old Milly Sutherland and her mom Angela, 50, at a reception for winners of the awards, and after their conversation, Angela said: “[Meghan] took him to one of these baby classes today, and she said they had loads of fun together. She said it was really good fun.”

The mum and daughter, from Liverpool, also asked the couple whether Archie has red hair.

“Meghan said he has, and Harry said he definitely has. You can see it in his eyebrows," Angela said.

She added, “Harry said he’d had no hair for five months, but Meghan told him she had taken him to the playgroup, and there were other children there with the same amount of hair or even less.”

At the event, Milly received the Most Caring Child Award for protecting her sister Sophie, who had Aicardi Syndrome and tragically passed away in 2018.

During this evening's reception, Harry and Meghan also spoke to 10-year-old Emmie Narayan-Nicholas who won an award for her idea, Emmie’s Kitchen.

Emmie, from Manchester, was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2017 and while being treated in the hospital, she envisioned a place where parents of sick children can meet and chat while enjoying a three-course meal. Emmie's Kitchen has now fed roughly 1,500 people.

“We were thinking of what we could do to help the hospital out because they helped me,” Emmie said. She also described meeting Harry and Meghan as “cool.”

Emmie’s mother Eve was a bit more vocal about her experience speaking with the royals, sharing that the Sussexes “were really nice and really down to earth.”

She added, “I come from a mixed race family, so for me, Meghan makes a difference to my world because she’s somebody who looks like me who’s married into the royal family...I guess for my child it’s somebody as a role model and inspiration for her that she’s a strong, mixed race woman who is part of the establishment. When I was growing up that didn’t exist.”

Harry and Meghan told Emmie that they loved the idea of her kitchen.

“They were very lovely,” Eve said. “When she sat down, I said ‘oh you look amazing and you’ve just had a baby.’ He looked at her and went ‘See I told you!’ in a way that we would...It did feel like they were very down to earth.”
