Meghan Markle Just Wore Princess Diana's Earrings and Bracelet
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's whirlwind royal tour is underway! The royals, who officially confirmed they're expecting their first child yesterday, started off their tour with a busy day in Sydney. On day one of their trip, Harry and Meghan met with Governor General of Australia, then visited the Taronga Zoo, and finally took in a performance at the Sydney Opera House.
On the heels of their major baby news and in the midst of their first major international tour, Harry and Meghan thoughtfully paid tribute to Princess Diana. As first pointed out by royal fans on Twitter and later confirmed by royal reporter Rebecca English, Meghan chose to wear jewelry that once belonged to the her late mother-in-law, including a pair of gold and diamond butterfly earrings.

That's not the only piece of Diana's jewelry the Duchess wore on day one of their tour. Meghan also chose a gold bracelet that once belonged to Diana, which perfectly matched the butterfly earrings.

Princess Diana's jewelry has become part of the regular rotation for both of her daughters-in-law. Prince William proposed to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge in 2010 with Diana's iconic 12-carat sapphire engagement ring, while Meghan's engagement ring includes two stones from Diana's personal collection. Meghan also famously wore Diana's striking aquamarine cocktail ring on her wedding day, a gorgeous piece that was worn by Diana in 1997.
Meghan and Harry are currently on an extensive 16-day trip that will bring the couple to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the Kingdom of Tonga. They touched down in Sydney on Sunday, and shared their exciting pregnancy news shortly after.
