Even a royal Instagram account can’t always be perfect all the time. And that means they’re going to share social media posts that include typos from time to time. Case in point: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry apologized for an Instagram typo, because — spoiler alert! — they are human.

The couple shared a famous Maya Angelou quote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women,” the couple wrote on their official joint account.

Only they didn’t quite get it right — instead of writing “a woman” at the beginning of the quote, they wrote “a women.” Let’s just say eagle-eyed social media users caught on pretty quickly.

After receiving a flurry of comments alerting them to the error (which, for the record, was incredibly minor and an honest mistake), the team behind the royals’ account opted to issue an apology and a revision.

“We post inspiring words like these so you can enjoy them, remember them, and share them – all the more reason to ensure they’re accurate. We are reposting because of a typo in the previous quote card. Apologies for the hiccup, and many thanks to those of you who flagged it for us! We do hope you’ll keep and share these powerful words from Maya Angelou,” the new post reads.

“These words, used in The Duchess’ speech on the opening day of the Southern Africa Tour in Nyanga, South Africa, surrounded by the inspiring Mbokobo girls, should always be a reminder that no matter how big or small, your voice has a purpose,” the royal social media team adds.

Obviously, this is not the first time the royal couple has received criticism for making a very human misstep — as our friend Kim Kardashian West points out, Markle isn’t perfect. But then, nobody is — and while this social media snafu won’t amount to much in the grand scheme of things, we’re going to have to say it’s pretty darn relatable.
