Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Christmas Card Is a Never-Before-Seen Photo From Their Wedding Reception

Here’s what we learned about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding reception from their Christmas card. The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex hosted their evening party at the Frogmore House in Windsor Castle, where they will be moving next year.

No images were released from inside the intimate affair, attended by the likes of George and Amal Clooney, Nacho Figuera, Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra and others until Friday, December 14, when Kensington Palace decided to gift the world with an entirely new set of images from Markle and Harry’s private reception. That wasn’t all: the royals also released an additional family photo of the Cambridges (Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis) as well as Prince Charles and Camila’s card as part of the orchestrated release.

In Harry and Meghan’s card, however, the couple is at the height of their day at 11 p.m. local time when fireworks were spotted over Windsor Castle, though the inside landscape of the historic residences were unknown.

In the intimate black and white portrait taken by photographer Chris Allerton, both Harry and Meghan are captured from behind, sharing an intimate, quiet moment together as they admire the fireworks over Frogmore’s historic pond. (The name “Frogmore,” in fact, comes from the marshy wetlands surrounding Windsor.)

Guests also get their first solid look at Markle’s evening gown from behind. The piece itself was designed by Stella McCartney and has since inspired numerous pending bridal collections. About 200 people attended the evening reception at Frogmore House on that fateful day of May 19, 2018.
