From Town & Country

Yesterday, just hours ahead of Prince Louis's first birthday, Kensington Palace released a set of three new photos, showing the little royal at the Cambridges' home in Norfolk. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share these new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow," the caption read. "The photographs were taken earlier this month by the Duchess at their home in Norfolk.‬"

Not long after the palace posted the photos on its Instagram account, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left a comment, by way of their new @Sussexroyal handle. "Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us," it read, with added balloon and birthday cake emojis for good measure.

It's been a big week for the royals. On Sunday, the family attended an annual Easter service. And they had extra cause to celebrate: Queen Elizabeth turned 93 on Sunday.

Then, of course, there's the excitement for the newest royal family member, as Meghan Markle is expected to give birth any day now. But unlike with Prince Louis's birth (and that of his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte) royal watchers won't get a glimpse of the new baby immediately following his or her arrival.

Meghan and Harry have opted to forgo the traditional photocall outside the hospital-a custom that both Kate Middleton and Princess Diana have engaged in-and will instead pose for a photograph at some point following the child's birth.

Perhaps, when photos do arrive, Kate Middleton and Prince William will return the favor, and leave a touching comment on the Sussexes' Instagram.
