Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Made One Last Unexpected Change to Their Instagram Account

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly hunkered down in their new Los Angeles pad, as much of America remains under self-isolation amid the coronavirus pandemic. But they&aposre still working from home, including making tweaks to their now defunct Instagram account, @SussexRoyal.

The couple posted their final IG message last week as they begin their official transition out of working royal life. They&aposve also, notably, disabled comments on all their previous posts.

Given the mean-spirited vitriol on social media that often surrounds the couple, particularly Markle, it&aposs not surprising they would shut down the comments section, especially if they&aposre no longer monitoring the account full-time. We don&apost yet know what&aposs next for Team Sussex and the charitable organization they&aposre starting, but it&aposs not a leap to assume they&aposll be back on the ’Gram (from a new account that&aposs not associated with the word royal) to promote it. After all, Markle was quite the influencer in her pre-Harry days with her lifestyle blog, The Tig, and also had an active social media presence.

"What’s most important right now is the health and well-being of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic," the couple wrote in their final post. "As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute. While you may not see us here, the work continues. Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another." They signed the message simply, "Harry and Meghan."
