There's a reason Meghan Markle and Prince Harry don't have any royal engagements this week ahead of their royal tour of Africa next week: The two are in Italy for their friend Misha Nonoo's wedding to Michael Hess. The Sun's royal reporter Emily Andrews wrote on Twitter that she had been told the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Rome today.

"Eagle Italian eyes tell me that Harry & Meghan were spotted arriving in Rome today for tomorrow’s wedding of the Duchess’ best mate Misha Nonoo to US oil tycoon Michael Hess. Misha, who helped introduce Harry to Meghan, collaborated on the highly successful #SmartSet collection," she wrote. "Archie was not with them—the Duke & Duchess of Sussex are enjoying a bit of down-time before their full-on royal tour of Africa which starts on Monday. They’ll fly to Cape Town then Harry will go to Botswana, Angola & Malawi before re-uniting with Archie & Meg in Jo’burg."

Nonoo recently gave an interview to the New York Times where she spoke glowingly of her and Meghan's friendship. "She is the most generous, the most genuine person,” Nonoo said, calling Meghan “such a sister in the sense that, you know, if you’re her friend, she’ll do anything for you.”

She told the outlet that nothing had changed about their friendship since Meghan became royal. (The NYT's Caity Weaver was understandably skeptical about the claim.) “I’m sure people probably think, like, ‘Things must be so different!’ et cetera, et cetera. ‘That must affect her friendships!’ But all I can say is that from my perspective, she has not changed as a friend,” she said. “From when I first met her, to a text that I would send yesterday or today, nothing has ever changed. Nothing.”
