Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Wish Prince William a Happy Birthday

Prince William is celebrating his 37th birthday today, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their well wishes Instagram official. The couple commented on the birthday tribute the Kensington Palace Instagram posted. "Happy Birthday to the Duke of Cambridge!" they wrote from their SussexRoyal Instagram account.

The Kensington Royal post read, "🎈 Thank you everyone for your lovely wishes on The Duke of Cambridge's birthday!"

This is not the first time Meghan and Harry have commented on birthday tributes that William and Kate Middleton have shared from their Kensington Palace account. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also commented on William and Kate's posts for two of their children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who celebrated their birthdays this spring.

For Charlotte's birthday, they wrote: "Happy Birthday, Charlotte! 🎂🎈 Lots of love, H and M xo."

And for Louis's birthday, they commented: "Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us 🎂🎈 xo."

Still, the timing of their tribute to William sends its own message. Their comment comes one day after Meghan and Harry's departure from their joint charity with William and Kate, the Royal Foundation, was announced. Meghan and Harry will create their own foundation in the coming months.

Officials told ELLE.com yesterday that the split was not due to any rift between the four. And multiple sources said that William, Harry, Kate, and Meghan will still work together to help champion the causes they believe in. The four “will continue to support each other on projects that they themselves do not have a link to,” sources said. "They will still come together to make a difference."
