On Friday, royal watchers were treated to a few photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, all dressed up to attend a wedding in Rome. Now, fans are learning that the Duchess was more than just a guest at her friend Misha Nonoo's wedding to Michael Hess.

According to royal reporter Rebecca English, Meghan was the only person to give a reading at the wedding. The passage in question—which the Duchess was asked to choose herself—was "The Vow" by Roger McGough. Read the short poem below.

I vow to honor the commitment made this day
Which, unlike the flowers and the cake,
Will not wither or decay. A promise, not to obey
But to respond joyfully, to forgive and to console,
For once incomplete, we now are whole.

I vow to bear in mind that if, at times
Things seem to go from bad to worse,
They also go from bad to better.
The lost purse is handed in, the letter
Contains wonderful news. Trains run on time,
Hurricanes run out of breath, floods subside,
And toast lands jam-side up.

And with this ring, my final vow:
To recall, whatever the future may bring,
The love I feel for you now.

Just a week and a half ago, Nonoo told the New York Times about how she has stayed close with Meghan, even through her transition to life as a royal. "All I can say is that from my perspective, she has not changed as a friend," Nonoo said.

"From when I first met her, to a text that I would send yesterday or today, nothing has ever changed. Nothing."
