Meghan Markle Stuns In Purple At Opening Ceremony In First Appearance Since Emotional TV Interview

Days after Meghan Markle emotionally laid bare the toll that joining the royal family has had on her happiness and personal life, the Duchess of Sussex has made a public appearance.

It was business as usual for the royal, who attended the opening ceremony for the One Young World Summit at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday evening (22nd October).

Markle wore a beautiful purple midi dress by Babaton - which she first wore in January while still pregnant - and left her hair out, the curls cascading down her shoulders. She looked radiant.

Upon arrival at the Royal Albert Hall, Meghan took to the stage along with other One Young World ambassadors and she clapped and smiled enthusiastically as the flag bearers completed their procession, while a choir sung Coldplay and Ed Sheeran.

The One Young World summit is a global forum which brings together 2000 young leaders in 0rder to create a better world, starting with the next generation of leaders. The young people are already activists and role models in fields from climate change to sexual violence to combatting extremism.

The Duchess attended as part of her role as the Vice-President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, which is partnering with One Young World to bring 53 young people from across the Commonwealth to the summit, which is being hosted in London this year.

This isn't the first time Markle has been involved with the organisation. Long before she joined the royal family, the former Suits actress was a counsellor at the 2014 summit in Dublin where she spoke on a panel called 'Bridging The Gender Gap' about gender equality.

It was during this talk which she said revealed how, as an actress, she challenged the creators of the legal drama after her character Rachel Zane was introduced to the scene 'wearing a towel' in more than one instance.
